Dog's Daughter
C'mon, a good book to share with my dear friends again!
It’s a Biography by Lindsay Wang, a Chinese who was born during the Mao's period
and talks about how Maoism had influence in her life.
She was later send to America for further studies, and which she narrates in this book,
her life in Communist China and Liberal America.
Well, quite an interesting book.
I like to ponder on the ironical aspect that she mention on the liberally as mentioned in America seems so control. While how the communist China could enjoy such freedom.
Seems the 'FREEDOM' in America is only entitled within certain sets of guidelines.
Citing like : in China, under Deng's control although China had not pull away from communist, but there is freedom of speech. While in America, it was labeled as a place of freedom, when you speak as what you felt, you will be penalize by Americans.
Although I do no agree with her at times, which I guess, Sometimes upbringing does play a part in how you perceive situations.
While reading through, I suddenly had this thinking that we, human, are actually quite politically minded. Its hard to pull away this.
Like for example, when we practice to treat all our kids equally with no favourism, we are egalitarian. !!?
It a nice book although most of the situations she relates it so politically. Man! She ain't a politician for sure, but she could be one.
ok, the book does come with a soft touch too. Guess what? Her husband writes the book and she narrates it. Thats romantic!
