Happiness

Once upon a time, there lived a kind man who had a caring and beautiful wife.
Together, they had a pair of healthy and obedient children.
In their nice and cosy home, they always had enough money to make their living.

What’s more to ask for...?

One night, an angel appeared in the man's dream.
She said
For the good deeds you have done, I am going to give you a wish.
Go ahead, make a wish.

He pondered for awhile and answered
Dear angel, could you make me happier?
I am already happy with my present state; however could you bring me more happiness?

The Angel smile and left.

Do you know what the Angel will bring for the man?
Make a guess…

The next day when the man woke up, everything that he used to possess was gone.
His wife, his children and his beautiful house had vanished.
He had to suffer the cold without a shelter; go hunger without his wife’s cooking and felt lonely without his children’s laughter.

One month passed and the angel appeared to return him everything that he used to have. His beautiful wife and children were standing before him in front of their nice cosy house.

He felt so happy and realized how much he had suffered during the terrible one month without them.

After another month, the angel appeared and asked him
Have I granted your wish?

The man answered in tears
Thank you angel!
I felt so fortune and happy to have my beautiful wife, children and my cosy house back.
I felt happier than ever!

Moral
It is sad that people usually learn how to treasure through losses.
To lose and regret comes before realizing the happiness you once had.

Actually, to define happiness is very abstract as it is determine by different individual who set the criteria to be and feel happy.

It does not mean that we have to suffer to be happy but to treasure what you already had. Similarly, I do not mean that we should have no expectations and accept everything as it is.
On the contrary, we could be more appreciative on our wants and be realistic for our goals.

Many had tried so hard and various ways to get happiness and only to find that it was within them. Unless you are mentally ill (eg, depression), otherwise it does not take much effort to be happy.

Being happy is never difficult, what is difficult is when you do not even know what makes you happy.

I am happy, hope you are too.
